Horse Riding Club

The Worcester Horse Riding Club is situated near the Breede River at the southern edge of Worcester town. Established more than 40 years ago, the main goal of the club is to supply stables and grazing to horses and basic facilities for horse riding. The club developed throughout the years and with the help of trainers plenty young and older kids, (even adults) are taught how to ride. Club members can ride their horses here on a daily basis.

The stables host a variety of privately owned horses: crossbreeds, ponies, Arabian horses, American Saddle bred, English Thoroughbred, Boerperd, just to name a few.

During the day the mares and geldings are in separate camps. During the late afternoon they will be let out of the camps and will find their stables with a small amount of horse cubes in the cribs. It is the owner’s responsibility to make sure the horses have proper food and clean water. The stables are cleaned every day by a team of permanent staff. New bedding is supplied weekly. Some of the staff lives on the premises.

Club members are requested to help maintain the facilities wherever they can and to help with events organized during the year. The events, usually Gymkhana, jumping and equestrian competitions helps with the club’s funds.

The club has a social schedule as well: outride’s, braai’s, potjiekos-competition are some of the social events organized during the year.

Welcome....
